Wings For Life is back in Vancouver for its fourth year (see past World Runs), and we can't wait! Always one of our favourite events of the year, this time we're going global and our event will be live streamed on Red Bull TV - selected globally among 16 other locations. The 4am start might seem painful, but it's worth it for the seawall sunrise views and the post-run brunch. Run as much or as little as you like - the unique format of this event means you run until your caught by our chaser bikes, so go whatever speed you want and have fun with it.For 2019 we're shaking it up with a new course and new partners. Thanks to the Donnelly Group we will be departing and finishing from The Lamplighter Public House and enjoying all new Crab Park, Coal Harbour and Lost Lagoon views. The format remains the same - run as far as you can before the virtual catcher car and the bikes catch you!
#TeamCoast2Coast was started in 2018 by Mike Shaw and Jim Mullan, an athlete and a musician who have both experienced the benefits of recovery through spinal cord research. The aim for #TeamCoast2Coast is to collectively run the distance between their home towns of Vancouver and Halifax - 5500km - and raise money for the Wings For Life charity while they do it.VRC Flight Crew will be joining forces with them for 2019, and we hope to help them smash their distance goal, and add to the fundraising total too. So once you register, be sure to join the #TeamCoast2Coast team page.
Registration for Wings For Life 2019 is now open, and with 100% of your entry fee going to spinal cord research, you're already contributing to the cause. If that's not enough, you'll get an awesome post-run brunch, and Red Bull support throughout the run.Want to learn even more and are in Vancouver? Join us tonight for our weekly Flight Crew run April 4 and hear a 15min chat from Wings for Life Ambassador Andrew Cho before the run.
