This past October 22 we rolled out We Run the Night to 40 lucky souls. This was a collaborative event put on with the generous support of Adidas Running Canada, Postmark Brewing and Ben Johnson Photography.

Leading up to the evening each participant received an email instructing them to wear dark clothing and to meet outside the shop at 7:30pm. We would provide further instruction at that time. 7:30pm rolled around with a noticeable buzz of anticipation coming from the crew waiting outside. Once we had everyone checked in, it was time to head up into the shop to explain what exactly we had planned.

Everyone was led up the glow stick lit stairs still wondering what was about to go down, corralled into the pitch black shop, then BAM!

After an unveiling of our reconfigured shoe wall complete with custom Adidas gear, we explained the plan was to run from the shop to Postmark Brewing on a route that followed False Creek, through Chinatown and into Gastown. But, there was more to it than that. Each runner was presented with their own spread of goodies to wear for the evening and keep when it was over, including an Adidas Storm Jacket and a pair of Adidas Adistar Boost shoes that completely reflect when light hits them (hence, the wear black clothing instruction). Once we arrived at Postmark Brewing each runner would receive a free pint of their insanely session-able beer of choice, and finally, once the night was over the name cards marking each runners loot could be used for a discount off purchase at Vancouver Running Co.

With that, we geared up and We Run the Night hit the streets. All runners stuck together like a pack of black reflective wolves, roaming the seawall and streets while Ben Johnson and his team followed us around taking the beautiful shots seen here.

We arrived at Postmark Brewing to a warm welcome and spent the remainder of the evening enjoying good company, fresh pints, great food and being treated to private brewery tours.
